What you see to the right is a project to place 24 post in the ground and lay a 40’ x 60’ slab on top of the posts. This slab will be 10ft off the ground and will be a playground and ultimately classrooms down the road. The man standing in the picture is Maurice, He accepted Jesus as his Savior years ago through the ministries of HGM. He is a very capable construction boss. He is incredibility trustworthy and glad to be building a structure that ultimately contributes to the building of a Christian community in this city.
We have other projects that you should know about. We built a computer room for the children in the school, we also built a cistern to hold water for the school-just off to the right of this picture, there is also minor renovations to a kitchen where Jim and I stay when we travel to the school. We also split a classroom in two so that we can accommodate new students moving into the 10th grade.
There is a lot going on and God is the one doing it! We get to be along for the ride of our lives! So many people from all around the world are contributing to make all of this happen.
I want to feature one of our donors—Wing and a Prayer Foundation—These guys were instrumental in securing air flights and tons of cargo during the earthquake last year—feeding hundreds of people. They have been side by side with HGM and are actively helping in the projects at hand. Thank the Lord for Wing and a Prayer and everyone of you who hears God speak to you about making these children’s futures in Christ come true. :)
Maurice: Construction Boss—Responsible for all the HGM buildings surviving 2010 earthquake without structural damage—the man knows what he is doing! |

These guys are awesome! I traveled to Haiti a couple of weeks ago to see the projects underway and to sit with these two for two days to get to know them. They are very well equipped servants of God. Jonas is a highly relational church planting Pastor and he is our school administrator. Guirde, as Jonas would tell you, is instrumental in holding everything together through managing details and structure. WOW! What a team these two are! We are very blessed to have these two well respected team members working in Haiti for HGM. Something that you should know is that they a have a beautiful little girl, 2 Giordina, and are expecting another gift from God in a few months. Please pray that the Lord would bless them in the wonderful work that they are doing together in serving the Lord with HGM. If you would like send them words of encouragement or prayers they can be reached at

I am very thankful we have two people at the helm in Haiti who are so very trustworthy and above reproach in how they conduct the Lord’s work at HGM. They are fluent in English so email them sometime. |

Several weeks ago dad was in Haiti and we received a distress call to one of our donors in Orlando. Dad sent a message to him say that he has a medical emergency and needed to get out of Haiti ASAP. We didn’t know what had happened, but we sure did start praying. What we didn’t know was that Jim had a bowel obstruction and that given other circumstances was life threatening.
God Provides! Dr. Phillipe, the Director of the clinic that is next door to the school came over to check on dad, and took one look at him and told him to get ready because he (Dr. Phillipe) was flying him home to a hospital. Today, after one surgery, Jim is recovering and preparing for a second surgery in a month or two. We are hopeful and prayerful for Dad’s full recovery.
Dad has a tumor in his lower abdomen and half of it was taken out in the first surgery. The second surgery is to follow soon. He is 84 years old and strong, he is by anyone’s standards, remarkable in his drive and spirits. We expect a full recovery and are praying for such. If you would like to send a card or email him, I know that he would receive that from you as great encouragement.

I want you to know that now is the time for us as ministers, that’s right, your are a minister. You are ministering to kids and families in the jungle of Lacrobat Haiti! As I was saying, Now is the time for us as ministers to push into the work of HGM. We are expanding the school so these kids can graduate from a Christian high school. I wish I could describe how reputable this school is in the community. The local officials know about the school and the stand for God we take. You are making that possible. The reason we are building (and what Jim was working on before he got sick and had to come home) is to expand the campus to accommodate kids in the 10 grade. We have 3 more classrooms to build before too long, which will take us all the way to graduating our seniors (which in Creol is “filo”). That will enable us to serve this kids from kindergarten all the way through to completion.
Did you know that your donations do not go to anyone’s salary here in the states, that donations are directed toward the kids and Haitians who teach them and getting us there and back. |
